Journey Into Africa Tour and Luncheon
Safari means “journey” in Swahili, and your guests will experience just that during this remarkable riding tour and luncheon. Explore the wide plains of the Sonoran desert and the golden dunes of the Kalahari, while you come face to face with extraordinary flora and fauna. Then listen for the sounds of ancient drums and African wildlife as you enter Village WaTuTu, home of our exclusive private party room The District Commissioner’s House. With a nod to 1920s African décor and spectacular glass wall featuring our beautiful Amur Leopards, your guest will dine on an artfully prepared luncheon by A Taste of the Wild and remember an experience like no other in Coachella Valley. Rates include day rental of District Commissioner’s House, catering, trams, staff, rentals and décor. 25 – 45 guests. 2-hour time limit.

Savannah at Sundown
As the day winds down and the sun sets behind the mountains, you and your guests can celebrate the season with an intimate tour and toast at our stunning African Savannah. Begin the afternoon with a riding tour of our zoo and gardens, followed by a private party catered by A Taste of the Wild at our Giraffe Exhibit. Choose the tour and champagne toast only or add light hors d’oeuvres, and enjoy feeding our graceful Reticulated Giraffes. An experience that is not to be missed! Rates include options for the Tour and Champagne Toast only, or the Tour, Champagne Toast, and Hors D’Oeuvres. Price includes private use of giraffe exhibit, catering, trams, staff, and rentals. 25 – 45 guests.

Lattes with Leopards
Looking for a thoroughly original way to start your day? Then arrange for Lattes with Leopards, a special breakfast package available only at The Living Desert. Beginning at 8:30 a.m., you and your guests will enjoy a delightful riding tour of our zoo and gardens, followed by a delicious continental breakfast at The District Commissioner’s House. Featuring stunning African-inspired décor, intimate viewing of our exquisite and endangered Amur Leopards, and delicious catering by A Taste of the Wild.
