Dine with the Leopards!

Location: District Commissioner’s House
• South side of the Village WaTuTu

Description
• The District Commissioner's House was built for visiting British Commissioners during Kenya's colonization era. The history of European influence on Africa, its people, economy and environment are an important part of our story. Not open for public exhibit, the District Commissioner's House provides an exotic indoor event venue. Constructed with the same thatched roof and mud-wall style as the Village huts, the interior of this house shares a solid glass wall with the Leopard Exhibit, which may be lit for night-time events. The interior is finished with flagstone flooring, thatched and ebony-stained beamed ceilings and white stucco walls. Furnishings will reflect a somewhat rustic, romantic European influence. A preparation kitchen provides catering options for intimate dinners, meetings, luncheons, receptions and seminars. Events may also flow outdoors to the front of the house, one of several alfresco venues.

Capacity
• The House has three antique wooden tables with matching chairs which can accommodate 20 guests. Tables and chairs cannot be removed from the residence. Extra tables and chairs may be brought in to accommodate 45 seated, 55 standing. The House is approximately 1,033 square feet.

Restrooms
• Restrooms are located at the Village entrance, and next to the District Commissioner's House.

Lighting
• All additional lighting needed for events must be furnished by the client. Electrical outlets are available for your use.
